This event commemorated the 161st anniversary of the 1848-49 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight.  A video program that related Hungary’s history leading to the March 15th Freedom Fight was produced and narrated by Home Office staff Melinda Trinfuly and Petra Fehérvári. HRFA President Leslie Laszló Megyeri welcomed the attendees that included Branch # 300 members, guests from the Hungarian Embassy, Capitol Hill and the Hungarian community-at-large. A reception followed the wreath-laying in front of the Kossuth House, and the evening was capped by a recitation of some of Sándor Petőfi’s finest poems by Aniko Olah. An election of officers was also held following the reception, and Branch 300 welcomes and congratulates its 2009-2010 leadership: President, Atilla Kocsis; Vice-President, Anikó Oláh; Secretary, Sabrina Dax; and Treasurer, Paul Kamenar.
