Kristen L. DeZee

Branch 22
(June, 2007)

The future is exciting and unpredictable. Education helps to shape the future of all children, which is the reason why I want to be an early childhood teacher. I have been blessed with the talent of communicating and understanding young children. Every child I come into contact with I am going to alter their lives in a positive manner and inspire them to fulfill all their dreams and potential. Teaching is a challenge, and very few people are given the ability to teach effectively, but I know I am one of those lucky few.
I am working towards my goal, at Youngstown State University. This is my second year attending such a wonderful school dedicated to its education program. I have already learned so much about teaching and have been given the opportunity to work with interesting and diverse professors. During my college experience in the last two years I have had the chance to tutor young children, created lesson plans, and volunteered my time to teaching sixth grade students economics. Everyday all my hard work and effort brings me closer to being an effective teacher.
I am also currently involved with children's ministry at my church. I minister to three and four year old children. Teaching them the word of God, and God's blessings has been extremely rewarding to me. The children continually inspire me to pursue my degree and allow me to have fun. They always have a way of putting a smile on my face and remind me of the many gifts God has given me. I know and I believe that with God's help I will achieve all my hopes and goals, by changing the lives of so many young learners.

Thank you so much for the opportunity.
