Sandor Varga
Branch 182
(February, 2008)
I am currently in my second and a half year as a full time student at Rio Hondo Community College. I enrolled as a music major, emphasis on composition. I plan on using my knowledge of music and love of it, to entertain and give joy to the people that listen to it.
I always had a love ofmusic ever since I was little, I was 1st chair Trumpet at middle school and I continued to high school, playing Jazz, Wind Ensemble and Marching Band. I have learned a lot and decided this is what I want to do the rest ofmy life is to create and play music. Currently I am taking many music classes and general education classes so I will be prepared to transfer to either a University or a Cal State campus.
At Rio Hondo I am involved in a group that is called the Diverse Instrument Ensemble, which is a collaboration of many instruments including electric and acoustic. This broadens my view of how many different instruments I may have to work with in the future. I would like to thank the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America for this great scholarship, and helping me afford my tuition in my educational career.
